The POS program is designed to be a cash register and not an accounting program. Therefore it gives you the information that you need to enter into either your separate accounting software or actual paper books.
While the program does have some features that will give you a history the program basically will tell you what has happened until you reset it, like at the closing of the register at the end of the day. It prints out the information for you to do with as you please and then it erases everything for the next day. One big exception to this is the actual inventory of your merchandise, but all financial data is cleared.
