I'll look into it further... right now I am trying to get hold of a pole display. I'll have to see what I can come up without one.

I am having the same problem as Kian - despite being able to type a text file perfectly to the pole, the pole.exe program does not work.

IBM SureOne 4614 Pole on COM4
9600, 8, 1, none

No good in pole, perfect in DOS. Any ideas?

At present, no support for parallel displays, and the current POLE.EXE included with POS only supports logic controls PD3000 (and probably some other logic controls models). You can get one of these from http://www.posworld.com among other places. The folks at posworld tested it for us on the PD3000, so thats the display of choice, but you can probably ask there for other displays that may work.

Pass-Thru

Post by patrick » Sat Aug 07, 2004 9:24 pm

When will POLE.EXE handle Pass-Thru displays?
I got a Logic Controls display (3000 someting..).

Best Regards,

Pass-thru displays will be supported... eventually. A DOS TSR is the next step for me in the POLE program, so that it can be used from plain DOS. Next after that is probably support for other types of displays. For pass-thru support, Dale will have to add something to POS that will either send the pass-thru code before printing or make the pole program do it instead. Making Pole do it is a better option, as this keeps POS from potentially freezing the PC if windows decides it doesn't really feel like letting the program access the port just yet :)

I'll get to it when I can, right now there is a whole lot of other stuff I need to take care of.
