telxon and inventory

Does anyone know if you can use a telxon PTC-701 with dh-pos's inventory / stock software?? I just ought three for $50 and when i get them i wanted to use the barcode scanner attachement to start tracking inventory. I know we do it at Xx.XXXXXX'x so...

Any how, if not, i will have an extra telxon someone can buy for about
$20 plus shipping, but only if you intend to write some dh-pos compatible software. And, if dale asks for the unit, everyone else is SOL. Dale??

Not sure if I can be much help but here goes...

I have olny seen 'professional' software written for Telxons by IBM etc. In the UK, Safeway used to use these but ditched them as they were too inflexible, expensive to maintain and old fashioned. It may be possible to reprogram one, or else if you can get the data off of one it could be stripped by a batch file or Excel or some other program, to be made suitable for DH-POS.

Personally I hated the little buggers, the barcode scanner is dodgy on plastics, the bleep just annoyed the hell out of me and they were horribly slow.

Safeway/Morrisons now use either Texas Instruments or Symbol PocketPC devices with inbuilt scanners - not as rugged, but more versatile.

Sorry I can't write the software you're after!
